The Pest Insider Story

I have worked in the pest industry in a few ways. It all started in Utah when my brother invited me to do door-to-door sales, after a short conversation and a plane ride to California I started selling in Fresno California for a company called Clark Pest Control. I had no idea what I was doing at the time. I listened to the pitches I was supposed to give and started knocking doors. By the end of the summer of 2006, I had worked hard and went back to Utah with a good chunk of change and a little pest knowledge.

After that experience, I went back to life as usual, until one day I was looking for work and I saw an ad for a pest control technician. The ad stated that they were looking for kids fresh out of college with almost no pest experience. I thought to myself hey this looks perfect I went and interviewed and was hired on the spot. I worked for Tracy Teeples with Beeline Pest Control and was taught most of the services that they provided. I became Certified with the state in Structural, Ornamental, and Wood Destroying Pests. I was also utilized heavily in their bed bug department which was a great educational experience. I moved to the central part of the state when my wife got a new job offer. My time with Beeline had ended, but I was hooked, I went and found another company that was looking for a pest technician.

Residential Services Inc. was my next stop. I started implementing my pest knowledge to do service for their customers and I was taught about lawn care as well. I worked with this company up until the ownership changed and at that time decided that it was best to part ways.

I went on and worked other jobs then my wife’s job took us to San Antonio. I started looking at how to make money online while we were in San Antonio, Once I found the right program I immersed myself in learning how to create a website and well here I am, however, that is not the end of my pest control story. After a year in San Antonio, my wife finished her job there and we moved to North Carolina.

Before we moved I looked for a Pest Control career yet again in The Piedmont Triad Area of the state. I sought out privately owned pest companies because in my experience they usually have a better quality service and a good relationship with their customers. I called a few places When I came across Jacob Payne at Pest-X Exterminating I knew I had found the right company to work for. Now I just needed to convince them that I was the right candidate for the job. After a phone interview with Jacob and a Skype call with the entire management team including the owner Simon Shaw,  I was extended a job in the Winston Salem Office as a Pest Professional where I continue to work for our team.

I still continue to work hard on my blog to advocate for both the Do It Yourselfer and the people that wish to have a pest company to do the hard work for them.
